The Baby Jays got plenty of pitching, including scoreless performances from starters in Buffalo, Dunedin, Lansing and the Dominican Republic, setting the stage for four wins in five games.
Buffalo Bisons 4, Louisville Bats 0
The Buffalo Bisons saw Scott Copeland return to the rotation after a major league stint and watched as he dominated for five innings. Held on a pitch limit after his inactivity, Copeland needed only 64 pitches (40 strikes) to get through five innings and held the Louisville Bats to just two hits and two walks while striking out five and getting eight groundouts (with no flyouts). Jeff Francis provided two innings of perfect relief while Colt Hynes and Bobby Korecky each struck out a pair of batters in his inning. While the offense wasn’t prodigious, Jonathan Diaz was 3/3 with a triple, a stolen base, an RBI and a run while Sean Ochinko (2/4, RBI) and Chris Dickerson was 2/4 with a walk and an RBI.
Roster Notes: A.J. Jimenez was placed on the 7-day DL with Josh Thole’s return to Buffalo. Luis Perez was placed on the temporarily inactive list after Scott Copeland was optioned to Buffalo.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 1, Bowie Baysox 10
In what turned out to be an ugly rout, the Bowie Baysox punished New Hampshire pitchers to the tune of 20 hits and 10 runs. Casey Lawrence took the brunt of the assault, allowing eight runs on 14 hits in 4 1/3 innings while Dustin Antolin allowed the other two runs on three hits and a walk in 1 2/3 innings. Cory Burns, Jimmy Cordero and Scott Barnes each went a scoreless inning but Cordero allowed a hit and two walks and Burns surrendered two more hits and a walk in the ninth. The Fisher Cats got only three hits including an RBI single by Jack Murphy.

Dunedin Blue Jays 5, Brevard County Manatees 1
Jeremy Gabryszwski notched his third win of the season (tying for the team-high) with six strong innings, keeping the Manatees off the scoreboard and allowing just two hits and two walks with four strikeouts. Phil Kish allowed the one run on three hits while Matt Dermody finished the game off with a scoreless inning. The offense got ten hits including four (and a walk) from L.B. Dantzler who drove in a run and scored twice. Matt Dean hit two doubles and walked while Jonathan Davis (J.D.) was 2/5 with a double, a run in his return from the DL but was also picked off first base and caught stealing (on the same play). Mitch Nay was 0/3 but drove in a pair of runs with two sac flies.
Roster Notes: J.D. Davis was activated off the DL and Jason Leblebijian was sent down to Lansing.
Player of the Game: L.B. Dantzler and Jeremy Gabryszwski
Lansing Lugnuts 5, Burlington Bees 1
The youngster got the job done: 20-year-old Conner Greene went out and had one of the best starts of his career, going 6 1/3 innings and allowing just four hits and one walk with nine strikeouts. Michael Kraft finished the seventh inning while Colton Turner allowed an unearned run over two innings with three hits against and two strikeouts.
The offense knocked out 12 hits including two each from Richard Urena (2/4, 2 2B, 2 RBI), Ryan McBroom (2/4, RBI, R), D.J. Davis (2/3, 2B, BB, 2 RBI), Mike Reeves (2/4, SB) and Tim Locastro (2/4, SB, CS). Rowdy Tellez was 1/3 with a walk and scored a run.
Roster Notes: Jason Leblebijian was sent down to Lansing while Justin Atkinson was placed on the 7-day DL.
Player of the Game: Conner Greene
DSL Blue Jays 7, DSL D-backs 1
The Blue Jays took advantage of the walks to reach seven runs despite getting only six hits. Sterling Guzman led the way with a pair of singles and he also took a walk, driving in two runs and scoring all three times. Francisco Rodriguez walked twice and singled, scoring twice while Yorman Rodriguez drove in a pair with a single and a walk.
Starter Yonardo Herdenez went four scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and no walks, striking out two while Ruben Ventura struck out five in three innings, giving up two hits and a walk. Jairo Rosario struck out three in his two innings, giving up an unearned run on two hits.
