The Blue Jays head into the All-Star Break on a downswing after losing two out of three to the Tampa Bay Rays after the Jays got snookered by David Price who went eight shutout innings.

Buffalo Bisons: Game Postponed due to Rain

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 6, Portland Sea Dogs 7

Four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning made it an unhappy day for the Fisher Cats as they fell 7-6 to the Sea Dogs. The ball was flying out the park as there were five home runs from both sides combined with K.C. Hobson and Jon Berti going deep for the Fisher Cats. For both, the home run was their only hit and Berti drove in three and Hobson drove in two while taking a pair of walks. Andy Burns had a huge game, going 4/5 with two runs, two doubles and a triple while Derrick also added a single, a double, a walk and an RBI. On the mound, Richard Bleier started and allowed three runs on five hits (including two home runs) in five innings with five strikeouts. Blake McFarland and Dustin Antolin each threw a scoreless inning but Tyler Ybarra was tageed for the last four (three earned) without getting an out.

Dunedin Blue Jays 1, Fort Myers Miracle 3

In Game 1 of the double header, Marcus Knecht got two of the Blue Jays’ five hits, going 2/3 with a single and a triple. Jesse Hernandez went five innings and allowed three runs with no strikeouts.

Dunedin Blue Jays 4, Fort Myers Miracle 8

Frank Viola III had another rough start for the Dunedin Blue Jays, giving up seven runs (six earned) in 2 1/3 innings. He was picked up well by Chad Girodo who allowed a run on three hits and no walks over 2 2/3 innings with three strikeouts. Peter Mooney had two hits and Christian Lopes‘ double was the only extra-base hit for the Blue Jays in this one.

Lansing Lugnuts 1, Bowling Green Hot Rods 3

The Lugnuts also fell in a tough game but got a very good start from Brad Allen, who went five innings and gave up two runs on eight hits but didn’t walk anyone and struck out seven. Brady Dragmire was tagged for the final run over three innings. The club only had seven hits, three by Dickie Joe Thon.

Vancouver Canadians 4, Everett AquaSox 3

Starlyn Suriel continues to impress for the C’s, going six innings and allowing just a solo home run with three hits and two walks in total while striking out six. Jose Fernandez provided two scoreless and Andrew Case gave up two runs in his inning of work. Roemon Fields stole two more bases, giving him 24 on the season, going 1/3 with a walk. Franklin Barreto was 2/4 with an RBI and Chris Carlson was 2/3 with a walk.

Bluefield Blue Jays 5, Princeton Rays 1

Thanks to Francisco Rios (5 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 2 K) and Oscar Cabrera (3 IP, 1 H, 4 K), the Bluefield Blue Jays got more than enough offense to come up with a victory. Rowdy Tellez looks like he might be breaking out of his funk and went 3/4 with an RBI. Josh Almonte went 2/5 while Austin Davis went 2/3 with an RBI. Richard Urena had the only extra-base hit of the game for Bluefield, going 1/4 with a double and a walk.

July 14 Preview

Buffalo Bisons (48-48)

Scheduled Off Day for the All-Star Break.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats (44-51)

With Daniel Norris away at the Futures Game yesterday, the Fisher Cats have had to juggle their pitching rotation and haven’t posted a starter for today’s noon game (on MiLB TV) for the ‘Cats. My hunch is that it’ll be Matt Boyd.

Dunedin Blue Jays (57-34)

Ben White gets the start for the D-Jays who are still on the road facing the Fort Myers Miracle at 7:05 PM.

Lansing Lugnuts (43-49)

The Lugnuts send Jeremy Gabryszwski to the mound as they continue their series in Bowling Green at 8:05 PM ET.

Vancouver Canadians (18-12)

The Vancouver Canadians haven’t announced their starter (at least on MiLB.com) for their game at 10:05 PM ET against the Eugene Emeralds.

Bluefield Blue Jays (13-11)

The Bluefield Blue Jays will be on the road in Princeton to face the Rays with Matt Smoral on the mound. It’s always an interesting day with the 6-foot-8 lefty on the hill. This one’s at 7:05 PM.

The GCL and DSL Blue Jays also in action today.
